The 17th Annual KID Hero 5K & 10K presented by UKG and hosted by The KID Auxiliary has gone virtual! From January 10- 30, 2021, the community will join forces by running or walking anytime... anywhere... while raising funds in support of the children and families we serve. Participants are encouraged to release their inner superhero by dressing up in their best costume as they complete 3.1 or 6.2 miles
For 41 years Kids In Distress (KID) has been carrying out our mission to prevent child abuse, preserve the family, and treat children who have been abused and/or neglected. We are able to do this because individuals, corporations, and foundations value and invest in the lives of the children and families we serve through our education, prevention, foster care, and family strengthening programs. The generous support we receive enables us to remain the premier provider of child and family services in South Florida.
With the onset of social distancing in March of 2020, we swiftly shifted to a virtual environment with no lapse in service. Forecasting needs based on our 41 year strong history, we proactively innovated to ensure we were meeting the needs of our community’s most vulnerable children and families.
In order to keep our community safe, the 17th Annual KID Hero 5K & 10K will be held virtually, yet it will remain a family-friendly run/walk bringing the community together in the spirit of support for the children and families we serve. Please join us as we encourage, educate, empower, and equip children and families.
Together we can make childhood possible for at-risk and foster children.
