KIDS HELPING KID (KHK)

WHAT IS KHK?

KHK is a group of South Florida middle and high school students whose parents are members of the KID Auxiliary.

WHAT DOES KHK DO?

KHK members lead the annual Thanksgiving Food Drive and partner with KID and the Auxiliary to support their signature events – KID Hero 5K and the Duck Fest Derby. Members also volunteer by providing respite for KID foster parents, homework help, movie nights, birthday celebrations and holiday parties.

co-PRESIDENTS' MESSAGES

WELCOME TO KIDS HELPING KID (KHK)

My name is Noah Abel, and I am a Junior at American Heritage High School. I have been a dedicated member of our organization since 2021, actively participating in various events and contributing baked goods for birthday parties and other special occasions. As the newly appointed co-president, my vision is to enhance the engagement and involvement of our members while creating enriching experiences for the children we serve. I plan to introduce more interactive and engaging activities tailored to the interests and needs of the kids. My goal is to establish initiatives and programs that leverage the unique skills and talents of our volunteers, allowing them to work closely with the children in specialized areas. Additionally, I am committed to developing opportunities for the older KID children to acquire valuable life and entrepreneurial skills, preparing them for future success. I will also focus on continuing to support our volunteers and foster homes with the new garden boxes. I aim to help teach the KID children about the importance of nutrition and the benefits of farm-to-table eating. By fostering a supportive and dynamic environment, I aim to inspire more active participation among KHK members and make a lasting impact on the lives of the children in our community. I am excited to embark on this journey and look forward to collaborating with everyone to achieve our shared goals.

Noah Abel, KHK Co-President

My name is Sam Danzig, and I am a Junior at American Heritage High School. I have been affiliated with community organizations for as long as I can remember. Specifically, for the past 4 years, I have had the gift of being involved in KHK. I have helped with the planning, set up, and attending of events at KID foster homes since 2020. I have been able to build relationships with the house parents and KID children there, which has been one of the most rewarding and life changing experiences. KHK is now like a family to me. As KHK has proved to be rewarding, it pushes me to want better for everyone. From playing basketball, cooking dinner, and helping pack backpacks for back to school, to hearing that a child I have been tutoring brought his grades up and made it to his class party - the synergy KHK creates to help both the KID agency and the KID Auxiliary is truly unique. I am excited to say that I will now be the KHK influencer, as I begin to lead this wonderful group of teenagers who care about the less fortunate. I hope, by reading this, you too will join KHK!
